DL8WPX 1960 - 2014

On December 15th, 2014 our buddy Joe DL8WPX (54) suddenly passed away at his residence in Zurich, Switzerland. Too fresh were the memories when we were together on Lord Howe Island only two months ago.
Many of you know him as DXpeditioner and contester. He was organizer or part of DXpeditions like VK9LM (1991, 1996 and 2014), S21XX, P29VXX, VK9CR, VK9XY, ZL7DK, VK9DNX, VK9DWX, VK9DLX and many others. Besides DXpeditioning he was an active and enthusiastic contester. He was a major team member of the DR1A crew. He was a leading character of the CN8WW M/M activities around the CQWW World Records 1999/2000. For several years he was active as the organizer of the WAE DX Contest.

He leaves his wife and four children.
